This painting was born when I was playing a simple game in my mind and a question: how I see the ideal family? Inspired by the question I immediately created a sketch depicting a husband and wife, a woman, and a child. Each stands on their own roots; they intertwine to form a strong family tree. A fourth root, made of hands, a small seed symbolizes the beginning of a fifth member of a family. At the time, I was a single woman, longing for strong, loving family relationships. This painting is a tender, hopeful and a desire for a harmony family relationships. The calm, natural colors evoke the peaceful family environment, while the tree symbolizes growth, unity, and life.
