Marina Shalyapina, artistically known as Mia Shaly, is a Cypriot-Russian visual artist with contemporary and unforgettable style. Originally from Moscow, she loved painting since childhood.
In 2011 she has made Cyprus her home for nearly a decade, enjoying and inspiring her art by Cyprus beautiful landscapes and amazing people.
In 2018, Marina launched her personal registered art brand, Mia Shaly, and developed her unique style, Shalysm. Her paintings are well-known through audience for vibrant colors and deep meanings, and each piece aims to bring warmth, beauty, and a positive mood to people’s lives.
In painting process Marina combines her background in Architecture and Arts Enterprise and the vision of her inner child. Her works invite viewers to connect with universal themes of love, joy, and life’s fleeting moments.
Most of her paintings are focusing on timeless themes of relationships with loved ones, the world, and the self.
Believing deeply in the transformative power of art, Marina views her work as an act of care for her audience, designed to inspire, uplift, and encourage personal reflection. Each piece tells a story or a fantasy about emotional moment of our being.
Since the first days living in Cyprus – Marina is actively involved in the Paphos art community, contributing to cultural projects and volunteering in numerous social initiatives. Street-arts, wonderful self art exhibitions. And curating artists group exhibitions.
She believes in the power of art to uplift and connect, and her dream is to help make Paphos a hub for artistic inspiration and cultural center of Cyprus.
And that one day her artworks will appear in big museums, influencing future generations, and became known and recognizable in the history of art of the 21st century.
