This painting is still in progress, and I’m excited to show it as it is at today’s exhibition. I believe that seeing the artistic process can be just as interesting as the final result. I build my paintings with multiple layers of acrylic — some colors require up to 5-6 six layers to achieve the depth I like.

The idea of the painting came from a moment of conflict/argue.

I was searching for the right title and found that in some literature the word “upset” is used instead of “argue”. It felt more honest — because arguments often leave us upset and shaken. Even when we turn away, something still connects us…

The top shows falling Tetris blocks, as if the “wall” between people is breaking down.

In the bottom there are symbols of the Moon and Sun — feminine and masculine energy, intersecting circles (ying-yiang) and the infinity sign.

It’s quite difficult for me to work on this painting, so I only return to it during rare emotional moments, that don’t happen often.
